Here's one I haven't seen yet. Dave McClure over at Master of 500 Hats decided to sell his car on his blog. I do wonder if one's blog readers are necessarily the people who'd be intersted in buying a car from you. Dave's car was eventually sold although I'm not sure whether the blog played a role in that (I would be intrigued to know!)
My brain 2.0 started thinking though... while Craigslist and the like seem to be doing a fine job, is it time for a Web 2.0 way to buy and sell your gear? If I can search for jobs or do business development on LinkedIn and exchange great links on StumbleUpon, where should I go to sell my car (or buy one, for that matter)? Stands to reason there is someone in my extended network I could be doing business with. I'm talking about eBay meets Facebook/Linkedin.
Caveat - when I finally sold off my first car, a terrible little Suzuki Swift that broke down in more places than ever I knew existed in a car, the last thing I wanted was to keep in touch with the buyer... good thing I didn't have any social buy & sell service!
